  20. Sounds like it is source code.  It is usually a bad idea to archive,
  21. compress, and encode source code for Usenet posting as it converts
  22. something that is human readable to something that is not human readable. 
  23. There are ways of grouping text files together in a single extractable
  24. text archive without making them unreadable by humans. 
  25. Comp.sources.apple2 uses one.

  27. Alt.sources.* is also a recognized high-volume hierarchy, so it isn't like
  28. you'll be making rogue binary groups.
